Karabo Mkwanazi is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Mine Health and Safety Council. His responsibilities are to ensure effective financial management and implementation of an effective and efficient supply chain management system.
Karabo has completed B Com Accounting and B Com Honours Accounting degrees and is a qualified charted accountant with invaluable experience in finance and corporate governance. His past experiences include amongst other things, being an audit committee member, finance committee member, as well a director for financial planning and management accounting.
As the CFO of the Mine Health and Safety Council, he believes that it is possible for the mining industry to reach the goal of zero harm. He is passionate about the idea of zero harm, and believes that with proactive strategies and adequate investments in both human and capital resources, the South African Mining Industry can ensure that “every mine worker returns home unharmed everyday”.
